ableton live.

all of the ones here will work, but ableton warps your audio into your desired
tempo. it will auto beat match, your songs, and if you don't like the session view , you could use the arangement view like me for more classic arranging, envelopes are simple. also, you can't export in the demo, but you can set up your pc to record your soundcard and record the final song to an audio editor (audacity, sound forge etc.)  and export.

you could also use acid pro but if you use the free version, you cant beatmap and if you buy it it has a ghey beatmap wizard. plus it has a cheap midi implementation.

don't listen to the review there, I dont understand how a 1 minute song with 8 bar (am I right?) patterns can be repetitive. its a good song, but I'm not a fan of the genre and can't go very in depth

Quote from: HachezClock;1367240finnished my song,  demo, does a synth keyboard count as a real instrument? I played it. except maybe I edited the midi file a bit. I'll make a final mix it when I get cubase to run again. or maybe I'll just use sonar.
added a quick piano track just in case. the piano is not sampled, I used a real acoustic for it, I had a few samples I got when I was able to use it, the studio costs more if you use the piano. I dont go to commercial studios now.

Quote from: Not Blackmagic;1365231It's supposed to be droning a bit, but also sort of difficult to ignore. On good speakers, some of the noises sound like explosions. Listen to it in the car if you want to hear what I'm talking about.

Also, since it's video game horror soundtrack music, that's exactly what it's for. It's supposed to be on loop, too, but LAME adds an extra two seconds of silence to it unless you buy it, which is shitty. I have the flac if anyone really wants it.
I'm listening on alesis monitors and I can confirm that

it looks great. I don't understand why you would need two channels of video.  I don't really like usb or sd, so I stick with cd or vinyl. I rarely work with vinyl recently though. still I got tons of sample cds. I even got about 40 acapella cds. that mixer is two much for my "less than $700 dollars or gtfo" policy which I strictly respect. looks great but I will have to use my axis 2 cd players (maybe axis 4 since I'm getting two) to play sounds. also I got a digital sampler somewhere, but I can't find it.

An ambient track. Instrumentation in the form of my synthesizer, which makes all you hear apart from the sample, which is of the Jonestown death tape. In my opinion this meets the "classic rock 'n' roll" requirement.
